  26.     Included are four clock programs, all basically the same.  Some of
  27.     them just have certain sections left out of them to save a little
  28.     memory space.  
  29.     
  30.     "Complete Clock"              has everthing in it.
  31.     "Clock with Set Function"     has the set function, but does not
  32.                                   support the use of non-default fonts.
  33.     "Clock with Font Selection"   can use non-default fonts, but cannot be
  34.                                   set.
  35.     "Simple Clock"                has neither setting ability nor font
  36.                                   ability

  40.     Usage Notes:
  41.     
  42.     This clock program was designed to take up as little screen space as
  43.     possible, and yet be able to give you as much information as you want
  44.     regarding the time.  All functions of the program are actuated through
  45.     menus (or amiga key sequences).  Note that the entire face of the
  46.     clock is used as the drag bar.  The menu selections are as follows:

  50.          Save Config    Save all Format selections, the window position,
  51.                         and the AutoFront selection to a file called:
  52.                                   S:Clock.Config
  53.                         When the clock is initiated, it looks for this
  54.                         file and, if it exists, takes the settings for the
  55.                         saved parameters from it.  Thus, you do not need
  56.                         to reset the clock format each time you use it.

  58.          Quit           Quit the program  (also Amiga - Q) 
  59.     
  60.     Set:
  61.          Date/Time      Places the clock in a mode in which you can set
  62.                         the date and time.  When in this mode, the day,
  63.                         date, time and seconds will all be displayed.  To
  64.                         change the date, place the pointer (mouse) over
  65.                         the day, month, or year.  Then press and hold down

  76.                         the left mouse button.  While still holding the
  77.                         mouse button down, move the mouse up or down to
  78.                         change the selected part of the date backward or
  79.                         forward in time.
  80.                         To set the time, use the same action over the
  81.                         hours, minutes, or seconds.  The selected part of
  82.                         the date or time will continue to change even when
  83.                         the mouse reaches the top or bottom of the screen.
  84.     When you are in the time set mode, the menu items under the "Set"
  85.     heading change.  They will now be:

  87.          Complete       use this when you are finished setting the time
  88.                         and you want to set the system time to the time
  89.                         shown on the clock face and go back to regular
  90.                         clock mode
  91.          Cancel         if you do not want to set the system time to the
  92.                         time shown on the clock face.

  94.     The Amiga and '/' keys may be used to enter the time setting mode and
  95.     to Complete it.

  98.          Seconds
  99.               On        Turns seconds display on            (Amiga S)
  100.               Off       Turns seconds display off           (Amiga T)
  101.          Hours
  102.               12 Hour   Gives a 12 hour display, with AM/PM.(Amiga 1)
  103.               24 Hour   Gives a 24 hour display.            (Amiga 2)
  104.          Date
  105.               MM/DD/YY  Gives a numeric form of date.       (Amiga N)
  106.               DD-MMM-YY Gives a alpha-numeric form of date. (Amiga D)
  107.               Off       Turns the date display off.         (Amiga M)
  108.          WeekDay
  109.               On        Turns the weekday display on.       (Amiga W)
  110.               Off       Turns the weekday display off.      (Amiga X)
  111.          Text Color     Selects the color of the clock text.
  112.          Back Color     Selects the color of the clock background
  113.          Text Font      Brings up another window in which you can select
  114.                         the font to use for the clock.  The window will
  115.                         open along the left side of the screen and list
  116.                         all fonts available.  Proportional fonts do not
  117.                         work very well.  Click the left mouse button on
  118.                         the name of the font you want to use.  Use the
  119.                         scroll bar on the right of the font window to
  120.                         scroll additional fonts into the window if they do
  121.                         not all fit.  Click the close gadget of the font
  122.                         window when you are done selecting the font to
  123.                         use.  Selecting "Default" will cause the clock to
  124.                         use whatever font is the default for the intuition
  125.                         screen (usually topaz 8 or 9).

  128.          To Front       Moves the clock window in front of all other
  129.                         windows. (Amiga F)
  130.          To Back        Moves the clock window in back of all other
  131.                         windows. (Amiga B)

  143.               On        Window automatically moves to front every 15
  144.                         seconds.
  145.               Off       It doesn't.

  150.     Multiple versions of the program are provided so that you can have
  151.     only the functions that you want or need taking up space on disk and
  152.     in memory.  The more functions you have implemented, the larger the
  153.     program is.  The simple clock takes up about 10K of disk space and
  154.     uses a minimum of about 15K of memory when loaded (depending on the
  155.     stack size and the particular display options you chose).  The setting
  156.     function adds about 1.7K of disk and memory space.  Not much, but if
  157.     you have a real time clock on your system, you don't really need the
  158.     setting function.  Adding the font selection adds 
  159.     another 3K to the program.  It also necessitates opening the diskfont
  160.     library, which eats up a little more memory and makes the program take
  161.     longer to start if the library is not already loaded.  Again, this is
  162.     not that much, but if you all you want is the clock in the default
  163.     font, there is no reason to have the feature implemented.  Using the
  164.     clock with any of the larger fonts is rather impractical since it
  165.     takes up so much room on the screen that it becomes rather intrusive.
